Want to lose weight? you need to do this!



I recently travelled to the USA and came back 3 lbs heavier - I need to get that weight off now, before it settles in and gets too comfortable on my body!

Not only will I obviously be looking at what I eat and the exercise I take ... BUT also I want to make sure my 'Mini-me' is going to support rather than sabotage my efforts - I want to get the feeling of being 'in the zone'. If you have ever had a weight management issue, you'll know what I mean.


If weight management is not an issue for you, you can still use the following technique to help you achieve another goal in your life that remains elusive e.g. changing job, leaving a destructive relationship, go the to gym more regularly, go to the gym at all!


  • Sit with both feet on the ground.

  • Close your eyes and take a couple of deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth. Smiling place your left hand over the middle of your chest, right over the Heart Chakra area.

  • With the middle finger of the right hand, gently tap on top of the left hand on the area just below the webbing of the little and ring finger (see diagram SJ3).

  • Tap gently as you repeat your reprogramming mantra, it can be in your own words but should start with the words: IT IS NOW SAFE …..


For example, I'm doing it now and using the following sentence which I'll say 3 times:


IT IS NOW SAFE FOR ME TO BE SLIM, FIT AND HEALTHY AND I FIND IT EASY TO CONSISTENTLY MAKE HEALTHY CHOICES. I'M DOING IT AND FEELING GREAT.

ALL IS WELL. I'VE GOT THIS!



I'm going to print that statement out and pin it up on my bathroom mirror, by the kettle, on top of the TV and in front of me on the desk - this will remind me to say it.

How often?

I recommend ...

For 7 days - every hour you are awake - I suspect some disapproval at that BUT - it takes 30 seconds to do, costs you nothing and I promise you, can make a HUGE difference! Let's be realistic, if you aim for every hour and only do it 6 times, that's going to work. However, for this first crucial week of reprogramming the more you can remember to do it, the better. Even if you don't tap and just quietly say it to yourself when you are stuck in a queue or traffic jam - get creative, but say it!

For the next 7 days - every 2 hours

For the next 7 days - every 3 hours


That's 21 days which is said to be the time it takes to change a 'habit', or in this case, re-programming of your Mini-me.


I would hope that from DAY 1, making healthy choices will become easier and by 21 days, be consistent and easy. If after the first 7 days I don't notice much difference then I will play with the wording - still keeping IT IS NOW SAFE but perhaps changing to:


IT IS NOW SAFE FOR ME TO LOSE MY EXCESS WEIGHT, I'M FINDING IT EASY TO CONSISTENTLY MAKE HEALTHY CHOICES AND I'M LETTING GO OF THOSE EXCESS POUNDS WITH TOTAL EASE!


So play with the vocabulary, because when you hit on the right wording that resonates with your Mini-me, it WILL make a difference!


OK so I'm off to print off my sentence, in fact I might do both AND I might even laminate them, being the little Virgo Metal that I am!


Do try this to lose any excess pounds, put some on or maintain healthy weight. In fact do it to strengthen any aspect of your lifestyle that could do with improvement.
